A bag tag challenge is the simplest game a club can run: everyone gets a numbered tag, you play anyone holding a tag, and the winner walks away with the lower number. It runs all year with no tournament director, which is why it works for a volunteer club.
The tag has to do three jobs on a piece of plastic the size of a credit card. It has to be recognizably ours from across a parking lot, so the mark takes most of the front. It has to carry a number big enough to read, so the position sits in the corner in the largest type on the tag. And it has to get people to the leaderboard without typing a URL on a phone with a disc in the other hand, so there is a QR code.
The back is the part I care about. Most tags are blank there. Ours carry the five values the club wrote when it rebranded, People over play through Terrific tournaments, because the tag is the one club object every member handles every week.
