Majette Caddy Book
A 5.5×8.5 pocket guide to the Monster at Majette from 2021: every layout's par and distance, the rules, the monster lore, and the list of people who built the course. The paper ancestor of the app.
Before the course app there was a booklet. In 2021 the Monster at Majette had just gained multiple layouts, and a player standing on a tee had no way to know which par and distance applied to them. The caddy book fixed that with the cheapest technology available: a 5.5×8.5 booklet, printed in a batch and handed out at the 2021 Captain’s Cup and at league.
Thirteen pages, in the order a player needs them. The course and how the layouts work. A table per layout with par, distance, tee pad, and target for all eighteen holes. The rules, including the ones specific to this course. The monster lore, because a course named for a monster should tell you about it. And Majette’s Army, the volunteers who built the course, listed by name, because the booklet is also the only place most of them will ever be thanked in print.
Nearly everything in the app came from here: the layout selector is the layouts page, the hole pages are the tables, the Bestiary grew out of the lore page. The booklet proved which information players actually wanted before any of it was worth writing software for.
